First Day of Pre-K

Kale's first day of Pre-K was today. He was so excited! He had his shoes and backpack on an hour before it was time to leave.

His elmo backpack!

We had to get the typical "first day of school" photo

By the time it was my turn to get a picture with Kale, he was done! So, I got some kisses and hugs instead!

Such a big boy! He was, by far, the smallest in his class. (smaller than the girls even...but he will grow!) He is also the youngest in his class.

Kale's teachers reported he had a great day. He did cry when we left, but they said he stopped crying shortly after. Pre-K...where did the time go????

9 Months Old

Another month...and my sweet boy is 9 months old. So hard to believe! He is an expert crawler these days and thinks it is hilarious when you crawl beside him. He loves to play with Kale and all of Kale's toys (sometimes Kale enjoys it...sometimes he doesn't). He is still one of the happiest little guys I know.

He is pulling up and standing and is starting to "cruise" around objects. He is currently a wonderful sleeper and will sleep from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., with 2 naps in between. We are SO thankful for that!

I got some cute pictures of my guys before church this morning. They were both in great moods and decided to cooperate with all the picture taking!

Love it!

My Twins!

Liam's 9 Month Pictures

We took Liam to get his 9 month pictures taken today. We weren't overly impressed with how they turned out, but we did manage to get a few decent ones. We plan to go to a "real photographer" to get his 12 month photos and family photos made in December.

You can really tell how much hair he has. I actually have to brush it these days.

This is my favorite one.

You can see his bottom teeth in this picture.

Happy boy!

He is pulling up and standing now and is starting to cruise around objects. He will be walking before we know it! (Unfortunately!)

Teeth

Liam has teeth! He has actually had them for a while, I am just getting around to taking pictures. He has two on the bottom and one on the top.

Liam has already managed to chip his top front tooth. He was pulling up and wiped out. I didn't notice at the time but then I saw blood. He had cut the inside of his lip and chipped his tooth. Now both my guys have chipped front teeth.

Just Hanging Out

My boys are at such a cute stage right now. I just want time to stay still so that they can be like this forever... well, except for the two-year-old meltdowns. They are so sweet when they play together. Kale loves to take Liam for rides on the four wheeler uncle David bought him. We may have to get an upgrade though, with almost 50 pounds on the four wheeler, it will hardly move!

Saying Good-bye

This will come as a shock to those of you who know Kris and I as dog people, but Molly and Jonah now have a new home. We have found since having children, we just aren't giving the dogs the time and attention they deserve. Not to mention, our new home is not very accommodating for dogs, since we have a small yard and no fence.

We put an ad on Craig's list to try to find a new home for our dogs. A couple in Waverly, VA, about an hour from our home became interested in the dogs. They already had an Alaskan Husky and wanted to find a friend (or two) for her. Last week, we drove the dogs out to meet them and see how the dogs interacted. It was a little rocky at first, but everyone ended up getting along. The dogs stayed for a week so the new people could see how they would fit in their family.

The dogs now live in a big old farmhouse with a 2 acre yard. They go on walks twice a day. The couple who adopted the dogs seem great. The husband is in the navy, while the wife doesn't work outside the home. Molly and Jonah are joining another dog, "Nuk" and a cat, "Nala." Molly is not too fond of having to share her home with a cat, but I think she will get over it.

I drove back to check on the dogs today and take the rest of their stuff to them. They seem happy and seem to really like their new owners. I think they will be much happier in their new surroundings. This is an "open adoption" of sorts and we will be able to visit the dogs whenever we want. We will also dogsit for the dogs if the couple has to travel.

We will miss our first babies. We have lots of good memories with them. Although I say good-bye with a very, very heavy heart, I know that Molly and Jonah will be much happier and better cared for in their new home.

Rainy Day

We have had quite a few rainy days this week. Dealing with the boys while inside all day is never fun. Kale kept himself busy for awhile with stickers. One of his favorite past times is putting stickers all over himself and Liam.

Kris enjoys sitting on the screened in patio whenever it rained. He had a beer and Kale just had to have something to drink as well, so I indulged him with an extra milk.

Kris is starting to train Kale...while they were sitting outside, Liam and I were playing inside. Kris sent Kale inside with his empty beer bottle. Kale brought it over to me and said, "just one more, just one more." I couldn't help but crack up. So, I sent Kale out with "just one more" beer for his dad.
