Kale's Tooth

Kale is showing off his tooth on the walk.

Getting Some Hair

Before Kale was born, I always said I wanted a bald baby...well, 9 months later, my baby is just now starting to get hair. I didn't really notice too much, but Kris pointed out that he is getting quite a bit of hair in the back but it is very blonde so we can still see his head through his hair. I took this picture when Kale had just gotten up from his nap. He will need to brush his hair soon!

Such a Big Boy

We have started to work on using a sippy cup. Kale has learned how drink out of it, but has a hard time understanding that he needs to tilt the cup up. Strangely enough he is not a big fan of juice.

Super Baby!

We are so lucky to have such a happy boy!

What a Good Eater!

Kale is such a good eater! If his teeth ever come in, I know he will be even better. Right now if I am eating food within his reach, he tries to grab it out of my hand. He is very interested in "real" food, but is still stuck eating mushy stuff! He is eating puffs, yougarts, and rice cakes.

A Trip to the Park

We have enjoyed several nice days of 70 degree temperatures here in Amarillo. From what we have heard, this is highly unusual. Kris took Kale on a stroll to the park. Kale still loves swinging, but he loves watching other kids even more!

It's Looking More and More Like a House

As of Saturday, the house should be completely bricked and stoned.

Our new address!

They will start painting and texturing next week.

Our big bonus room! 800 sq. feet...perfect for Kris' man cave and Kale's play room!

Chasing the Dogs

Kale loves to chase the dogs in his walker. We have even rearranged our tiny living room so he can get around better. Jonah is terrified of Kale when he is the walker. If Kale corners him, he start to whine and has even jumped on the couch in an effort to get away from him....and believe or not, Jonah never gets on the furniture unless asked.

I know many people have bad things to say about walkers, but I am a big fan. Kale loves his and laughs and smiles the entire time he is in his. He definitely enjoys being mobile.

He's Crawling...well, kinda

I have been worried about Kale because he wasn't crawling yet, but when I came home today he was crawling, well, in his own way. He is definitely doing things at his own pace. He still doesn't have a complete tooth yet. His bottom tooth has been peeking through for weeks now. But I am sure he will have them before I know it!

The House

They started putting up the drywall on the inside of the house yesterday. It's amazing how fast they move! In just one day they completed nearly the whole house. Our brick has also arrived, so we expect the house to be fully bricked at some point in time this week.

All Dressed Up!

Weekends aren't what they used to be...

Gosh, weekends sure have changed around our house! The dogs and I had a relaxing night watching Sex and the City and drinking wine.

Naughty, Naughty!

It is no secret that Kale is one of the worst sleepers around. At 9 months he still doesn't sleep through the night. He is just as horrible at napping. The other day he was really fussy, but wouldn't sleep no matter what I did. I finally just put him in his bed and closed the door. He fussed for a few minutes, then got quiet. I thought he had fallen asleep. About 20 minutes later I went into his room to check and I discovered that he had not fallen asleep...instead he was playing with his toys! We always leave a few toys at the end of his bed for when he wakes up early in the morning. He had wormed his way down there and was quietly playing.

Silly Boy

I tried to take a picture of Kale the other day because he looked on cute...he is not cooperating with picture taking these days. He smiles really big, but he squints and closes his eyes any time he sees the camera. It makes it really difficult to get a decent picture!

We have windows!!!

Windows and exterior doors were installed in the house today. Kris and I choose interior details this past weekend...wow, there sure are alot of things to pick out! This process is rather stressful. I am terrified I am going to pick items that don't "go" well together.

Just Plain Cute

I think this is one of Kale's most adorable outfits. Kris does not like it at all though!

It has been a very nice week here so far. Kale was able to wear one of his cute T-shirts and jeans and the sitter took him on a walk.

Kale is such a good eater. We have started letting him stay up until 7:30 or so, so now he eats dinner with us. I sit him in his high chair and give him a little bit of whatever we are having. He still has to eat soft food because his teeth just won't seem to come in! He does a good job with the pincher grip and manages to get much of the food in his mouth. The dogs are pretty excited that he is eating real food now because some of his food definitely ends up on the ground. When the dogs eat the food from under his high chair he just laughs and laughs. I even caught him purposely feeding Molly yesterday!

Me and My Dad

Kris and Kale always seem to match. The other morning I got Kale dressed for church. When I came out of his room, Kris had on almost exactly the same outfit.

I love this picture. Kale adores his dad!

He's Standing!!!

Gram (Grandma Debbie) bought Kale a Leap Frog Music Table for Christmas. We have been playing with it on the floor, but the other day I decided to put the legs on it to see how Kale reacted. I was surprised to find he was able to stand up supported. One of his favorite things to do now is stand up and play his music table. He thinks he is such a big boy! He always stands on his tip toes though!

Playing Basketball

Kale got a sports play center from Grandma Marilyn and Grandpa Dick for Christmas. I figured it would be a few months until he was really into it, but I showed him how to play basketball and he picked it up very quickly! Kris says Kale is already a better shot than him.

Bye-Bye

Kale has somehow learned to wave bye-bye. This is not something we have tried to teach him...I guess he just picked it up on his own from watching others. It's amazing how much he is learning these days. Please forgive the fact that this video if not turned the right way. I can't figure out how to do that. Also, ignore the fact that I am in my PJs!!!

Molly and Kale

Best Buds!

He looks like he is thinking of doing something naughty.

Poor Jonah

The other day I let Jonah and Molly inside and suddenly I noticed blood dripping all over the floor. I took both dogs outside and discovered that Jonah had a huge chunk missing from his ear, and his ear was split halfway up. I tried to get the bleeding to stop but couldn't. The baby was screaming, the dog was bleeding, it just wasn't good. Kris came home and managed to create a patch for Jonah's ear.

You can actually see the blood on the floor in this picture. Jonah is very depressed because we won't let him go outside with Molly. He sits at the window and stares at her and cries. Poor Jonah!

Ear Tubes

Kale had ear tubes put in on Wednesday. Poor little man has had ear infections since we moved to Amarillo. I was pretty nervous even though the procedure is short and sweet.

He looked so cute in his little hospital gown.

He sure was a happy man despite the fact that he couldn't eat or drink after midnight. I figured he would be a bear to deal with, but he was his normal cheery self.

The procedure went fine. He was extremely fussy immediately after the procedure. He has continued to be fussy today, probably due to his drowsy state. We are really hoping that the tubes help with all of the infections and that he will finally start sleeping better at night. He currently wakes up almost every hour. . . it's painful.

So Spoiled

Our dogs lives have certainly changed since Kale came along, but I think it's safe to say that they are still spoiled.

Coming Along

The house is fully framed. We FINALLY choose our brick, stone, and trim color. I have a feeling our builder was a little irritated with us because we couldn't make up our mind. March 31st is right around the corner!

Happy 2011!

This is how my family spent New Year's Eve! Kale and I both got the stomach flu and ended up in the dr's office that day. Kris and I had planned to grill steaks and have appetizers after Kale had gone to bed (it's impossible to get a sitter on NYE.) However, our plans went awry when Kale and I both got sick. Instead, we rented a movie on demand and vegged out on the couch.
