Pumpkin Patch

This weekend we went to the pumpkin patch. This was quite a feat for us considering both boys had runny noses and sore throats and Kale had been running fever. This is the only weekend to use free tickets though, so we decided to try it.

There were all sorts of activities to do, including watching pig races. I thought this was something that took place only in Amarillo, but I was wrong. I guess they do it in Virginia too!

Liam and Kale wore their matching pumpkin shirts for the occasion.

Both boys enjoyed riding on the wagon train that was pulled by an actual tractor.

The place that we went was an actual farm. During the summer, they have all kinds of berries, watermelon, corn, and other fresh vegetables. They had several acres of pumpkins too. The bright orange was very pretty.

The boys enjoyed all the activities. They got to see all kinds of farm animals. They also had a moon bounce and a few other kid friendly things to do, but there were so many kids there, we didn't let the boys do the moon bounce for fear they would get trampled!

We can never seem to get a picture of both of them looking at the camera...at least Liam is smiling!

Kris and Liam look identical in this picture. They both have big smiles on their faces and their eyes are closed.

They had an area that had all kinds of riding toys. Kale was in heaven. He watched all of the other kids riding around and decided it was time for him to try. He finally managed to pedal a tricycle!!

Halloween Costumes

We went shopping for Halloween costumes this weekend. Liam is going to be Cookie Monster (how fitting). Can you guess what Kale is going to be?

Kale was dressed like such a big boy to go shopping. My baby is growing up!

Pictures

We have been busy lately, but I haven't been taking too many pictures. My camera actually broke, so I had to send it off for repair. We are still waiting on it to return.

I am not sure why I took these first couple of pictures of the boys. As you see in the one above, Liam has crazy hair! Kris says it reminds him of Albert Einstein.

Grandma Marilyn came for a quick visit when she was in the area for work. The boys enjoyed showing her the children's museum. Kale was not enjoying this picture though. . . not his best look, but my selections were limited. He is not into pictures these days!

This is Kale's method of keeping Liam away from stuff he doesn't want him to get into. He takes the item or items and puts it on the stairway. Liam can't get past the first step, so it's a surefire way of keeping him away from "Kale's stuff!"

Touch-A-Truck

This weekend was touch-a-truck at the Richmond International Speedway. I read about it in a magazine a few weeks ago and knew that we had to go. We both thought Kale would be in heaven! He loves trucks! They have every kind of truck, service vehicle, helicopter, race car, imaginable. The kids can pretend to drive the vehicles, climb on them, touch them, etc.

However...we were sorely mistaken. He hated it and therefore we all had a miserable time! He is really struggling these days with all of the changes from the move. He has a new babysitter, a new preschool, a new nursery at church and he doesn't want to let mom or dad out of his sight. We would put him in a truck to drive and he would start screaming. Any time we go somewhere new he is petrified we are going to leave him there. It didn't help that he hadn't slept well the night before and had woken up several times.

We tried to make the best of it, but he wasn't having it!

Maybe next year...

Liam enjoyed the stroller though and was in a great mood! At least someone was...

In other news, Liam is now eating actual table food. So far, he has tried mac and cheese and ravoli. He loved both, of course. I have to limit the amount that I give him because he will just keep eating and eating if I let him! He also had some french fries and fried zucchini. He is a big fan of cheese puffs too.

Playing Together

I love to see my boys playing together. It's the one thing that gets me through the tough days as a stay-at-home mom. Lately they have really been enjoying each other. It has been nonstop laughter around here. They just look at each other and crack up laughing! They are probably laughing at me.

Well Child Visit

Liam had his 9 month visit to the doctor on Tuesday. He is doing well! He weighed 23 pounds and 1 oz (he has lost weight since his ear tubes) and was 29 1/2 inches tall. He is in the 95th  percentile for weight and 85th for height. I asked the doctor if he needed to go on a diet and she said we will see how he does over the next few months. Now that he is mobile, she thinks that he may slim down. So for now, Liam can spend as much time in the fridge as he wants! We did find out he is anemic, so he has to start on iron vitamins.

Now that Liam is "on the move", he is into everything--fridge, wine rack, Kale's food, cabinets, drawers, you name it and he will get it!

First Day of Pre-K

Kale's first day of Pre-K was today. He was so excited! He had his shoes and backpack on an hour before it was time to leave.

His elmo backpack!

We had to get the typical "first day of school" photo

By the time it was my turn to get a picture with Kale, he was done! So, I got some kisses and hugs instead!

Such a big boy! He was, by far, the smallest in his class. (smaller than the girls even...but he will grow!) He is also the youngest in his class.

Kale's teachers reported he had a great day. He did cry when we left, but they said he stopped crying shortly after. Pre-K...where did the time go????

9 Months Old

Another month...and my sweet boy is 9 months old. So hard to believe! He is an expert crawler these days and thinks it is hilarious when you crawl beside him. He loves to play with Kale and all of Kale's toys (sometimes Kale enjoys it...sometimes he doesn't). He is still one of the happiest little guys I know.

He is pulling up and standing and is starting to "cruise" around objects. He is currently a wonderful sleeper and will sleep from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., with 2 naps in between. We are SO thankful for that!

I got some cute pictures of my guys before church this morning. They were both in great moods and decided to cooperate with all the picture taking!

Love it!

Liam's 9 Month Pictures

We took Liam to get his 9 month pictures taken today. We weren't overly impressed with how they turned out, but we did manage to get a few decent ones. We plan to go to a "real photographer" to get his 12 month photos and family photos made in December.

You can really tell how much hair he has. I actually have to brush it these days.

This is my favorite one.

You can see his bottom teeth in this picture.

Happy boy!

He is pulling up and standing now and is starting to cruise around objects. He will be walking before we know it! (Unfortunately!)
