Pool Day

Our family has joined the Amarillo Town Club, which is a fitness facility. They also have a great outside pool, along with a couple of indoor pools. We spent Sunday afternoon swimming at the pool. Kale had a great time in the water, as usual. He was exhausted afterwards. We are starting swimming lesson June 20th!

Mowing the Lawn

Kale got a bubble mower for his birthday. He loves pushing it around the patio while dad mows the "real thing." Kris can't wait for Kale to help mow the lawn!

Swimming!

I blew up Kale's kiddie pool and thought we could spend some time outside in the sun the other day. However, Kale wasn't that into it. I think the water was a little too cold for him. He spent about 2 minutes in the pool and was ready to get out. Hopefully the water will warm up in the next few days and he can enjoy time in the pool.

First Few Steps

On Friday, Kale took his first few steps. He managed to do it accidentally at first and is so proud of himself when he manages to walk without falling. He would still rather crawl though...it's faster for him at this point!

Kale's Shower

The other day I was getting ready to get in the shower. As I was warming up the shower, Kale just crawled right in, clothes and all! We took advantage of the opportunity to give him his first shower and his nightly bath.

I'm sure he will appreciate me putting naked pictures of him on the internet one day.

We have a rain shower, so could sit on the bench without getting wet. Clearly Kale is enamored with the "rain."

At one point he crawled around on the floor of the shower (luckily the shower was just cleaned), and once his back was under the water, he just sat there in a daze. You could tell he was enjoying the water on his back. Everyone loves a nice, relaxing shower!

Kale's Chinese Pajamas

Kris got Kale silk pajamas when he was in China last year. They were way too big. I found them the other day and put them on him only to discover they finally fit him!

His "pose" in this pictures is so funny!

Kale's Announcement

Kale is so excited to share his news...he is going to be a big brother!

We are expecting again! (I know most of you are thinking we are crazy! They will be 21 months apart.) I am about 9 weeks along at this point. Our official due date is Dec 23rd, however, since I will have a C-section, it will more than likely be about 7 days before the due date.

I have felt pretty good, although I have had a bit more morning sickness with this pregnancy. We have had 2 ultrasounds so far and will have one more at 12 weeks, then again at 18-22 weeks to determine gender. (I am hoping for another boy! ) I found out I was expecting the day before Kale turned 1.

Houston Trip

We recently went to Houston for Kris' graduation. We did decide to go a few days ahead of time so we could see some friends and take a "mini" vacation. We went to see our old house...made me feel very nostalgic. But of all times, this trip is the one that I forgot to bring my camera! The pictures on this post were taken with my cell phone, hence the quality.

We went shopping at the Outlet Mall. Kris let Kale ride almost every single toy there (and there are a bunch of them)!

We went to a graduation party and Kris and Kale got to enjoy some pool time together.

Kale LOVED the water and started bawling when Kris took him out (even though he was shivering).

Kris' Graduation

Kris is now a proud graduate of the University of Houston's EMBA program (executive master's in business administration). I do have to brag because U of H has a great program...it is now a Tier I school, was recently named in the Princeton Review as one of the top universities in the nation, and the Bauer College of Business is a top 8 business school. I am so proud of all Kris has accomplished. He has worked so hard!

The Graduate!

Kale is lucky to have two highly educated parents!

Mother's Day

I am so lucky to be Kale's mom!

I celebrated Mother's Day by sleeping in! Then, we went out to brunch and did a little shopping. After that, I went back to the house, snuggled into bed with my new Kindle (which I got for Mother's Day), read a little, and took a nap. Kris made dinner for us to end the day. Such a nice, relaxing way to spend the day.

I had to try to get a picture of Kale's shirt, but getting him to sit still these days is almost impossible. His shirt says, "Daddy and I agree, Mommy is the boss!

Downstairs Living Room

Many people have asked for pictures of the house now that we are moved in. I didn't get to take a picture of our bedroom (it was too messy), Kale's room (he was sleeping), or upstairs (I was too lazy to go upstairs). I will add more pics later.

Our Nice, Relaxing Weekend

We didn't do too much this weekend. We ran a few errands, but other than that, we just hung out at home. It was nice to relax, lay around in our p.j.s, and take naps. It was just what the dr ordered!

Kale loves to look outside and see what is going on. There is lots of construction on our street, so there is plenty of traffic for Kale to keep his eye on.

Kale continues to be a horrible eater. We have discovered there are certain things he will eat...yogart, yogart melts, goldfish, blueberries, and as in this picture, PIZZA!!!

We are working on dropping the bottle completely. He is only getting a bottle at night right before bed. During the day, he solely takes the sippy cup.

Enjoying a bubble bath!
